I have heard of so many people who have created forum to gain some kind of revenue, whether it be adding affiliate images on their forums to gain revenue or just offering services on their forums such as VIP or something other for a subscription price.
Have you ever created a forum to bring in some kind of revenue? If so, what kind of methods did you use on your forum and did you find that they worked well?

I will share my revenue options. Buysellads is a very good website to start with. If you have over 35,000 monthly impressions they will approve you. What buysellads is, is a site that has many advertisers looking for publishers to buy advertising space from. Buysellads only takes like 5% of revenue you make from using their site. I have seen some forums that charge $150.00 a month from buysellads and they have like 5 people using that service as of right now which is about $750.00 and they still have people buying their service every week. Which is really good revenue! If you had really good forums and traffic, and you were making $750.00 a week! You could quit your day time job.. Now you know why I am trying to get lots of traffic to my site. So I can start using buysellads to sell ad space and make lots of revenue.

I am thinking of starting up a forum with the same intention as Devin above posted. Of course I want to start a community to help others but the money would be really nice. Google AdSense may be a good way to earn but BuySellAds is better!

Just notice it is really hard to get lots of people on your website. I have had this up for about a month, and it was a pain in the butt just to get 20,000 impressions in a month. Yet on 40 have signed up. But don't let me stop you. If you should have any questions feel free to let me know and I will try my best to answer them for you

Yes its possible but you have to remember forums take time and sometimes too much work to build.

It is definitely hard monetizing a forum but if you do things right there's endless potential when it comes to earning income. I use to run a game server back in the day and the forums for that earned well over $100 a month in Google AdSense and it wasn't even that big of a forum.
Like Devin said, BuySellAds is another good one that has great potential for earnings if you can manage to get your community active and off the ground... that's the hardest part and that's why most people fail when it comes to earning from their forums. They don't dedicate themselves and work hard enough to get it where it needs to be before trying to earn money from it.

How have I not heard of buysellads before this is really interesting and something I am certainly going to look into. I have a forum at the moment which I have had open for 3 years now which gets quite a lot of traffc however I am unsure of impressions so I will have to check that. I may be eligible for something like this to be honest and with that kind of pay out that is not bad at all. Thank you for sharing this

Forum is a nice way to earn money online. Unlike blogs, you are not the one who create content; you just manage the community. You don't have to promote everyday, your get loyal members who keep coming back. Because it is somewhere people check out when they have problems, you may get huge amount of organic traffic. The only difficulty is to make it active!

It is a pain in the butt to gain attraction to your website, there are a few ways to take advantage of small businesses in real life. It's making a deal. Although it doesn't gain you many customers, it could help both of you. You go to your local bakery, ask if they'll put up a poster about your website, and if they do then you'll put up a banner about their bakery. Although you would need to make sure it only shows to people in your area, you could find the programming for that online somewhere. Unless you already know it, then great! Another great place is big businesses such as; Walmart, Shaws, or even the City Hall Billboard. To make money, you could add advertisements from many websites. But my recent attempt to you display ads on my website from Google Adsense failed, and I tried to advertise my website but failed to do so. CPXcenter.com is a nice one. chitika.com is a good one as well. You need admins and moderators to help you. Business partners are a good idea too. Like I said earlier about the poster and banner ads. Good luck to all who try!

A forum project is something interesting if you made a good business plan. The key is to know what you want to achieve, how much time it will really take and what will it cost.
Most people think success is instant. They make the biggest mistake to give up one step at success!

I never made forum to get revenue from it or will ever make it. I simply make forums to help out someone or to discuss with other people on Internet. Even if i get any revenue from my website/forum i give all money i get to improve it or simply to pay bills of hosting and domain.
