Have you ever run into issues with the YouTube copyright system? I personally have, and it isn't fun if you know that you are not using copyrighted material. I reposted a mix, after getting permission from the original uploader, and put a link to his soundcloud as he requested. However, it turned out that YouTube said the video contained a song that was copyrighted. And the song wan't even in the mix! It said I could file a counter-notification if I believe the claim is false. And I did. After doing so, I received a threatening email from Liberation Music. They stated that I had 48 hours to retract the counter-notification, or proceedings would begin at a local small claims court. I retracted the counter-notification, and had a strike recorded on my account. I tried to contact YouTube, but they ignored my complaints.

That is horrible. I don't understand why they do that. You don't have to take off the music unless you are trying to monetize your video. If you are trying to do that then they will not allow you.

That is rdiculous. Sometimes I do believe that some companies do this just to worry people even if they are not doing anything wrong.
I myself have personally never had any issues with copyright when using YouTube for the small amount of video's I have on there but seeing things like this more often than enough kind of puts me off wanting to create video's for YouTube unless I know for sure I will not get any kind of comebacks.
