Why is dial up even an option anymore?

You can barely load up an internet page, you can't update any of your browsers or security system without getting kicked off and having to sign back in. Why is it still an option? Its obsolete. It should be discarded or get an upgrade to at least make it faster and updating programs.

I used to have it and it took as long as 2 hours to load certain pages on the net.
